The school has acquired a MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer. Basically it can "print" fully three dimensional objects from ABS plastic (the same plastic they use to make Legos). Not sure what I'm talking about? Check out Thingiverse. It's a website for sharing cool objects, many of which were printed on 3d printers very much like the one that will be in the physics room. I plan on doing a physics project with this in class this year. I'm still working out the details of the project, however.
